Dr. Weyher joined the faculty at K-State in the Fall of 2004. He has published work in The American Journal of Sociology and Labor History. He was awarded (with Maurice Zeitlin) the 2002 Distinguished Contribution to Scholarship Award, Honorable Mention, from the Political Sociology Section of the American Sociological Association for their (2001, AJS ) article: "Black and White, Unite and Fight: Interracial Working-Class Solidarity and Racial Employment Equality." Other work (with David Halle) appeared in the Blackwell Companion to the Sociology of Culture (2004). Dr. Weyher has presented his work at regional, national, and international sociological and interdisciplinary conferences. His current research is primarily in the areas of social theory, culture, and the emotions, though he continues to work on labor history, class, and social inequality and is extending this to aspects of urban change. He teaches courses in Social Theory, the Sociology of Emotions, Cultural Sociology, Urban Sociology, and Labor History.
