Gaining Admission to the Graduate Program

Applicants to the program must submit the following:
1. Completed application form to the KSU Graduate School. This may be completed on-line at http://www.k-state.edu/grad . If this application form is not completed on-line and hard copies are used, two copies of the completed application form must be submitted.
2. M.A. Students - Two copies of your undergraduate transcripts
Ph.D. Students - Two copies of your undergraduate and graduate transcripts
3. A letter stating your academic objectives and requesting financial assistance if you require it to carry out your graduate studies.
4. Three letters of recommendation (no official form is required).
5. One and not more than two examples of your written work (e.g., publication reprint, paper presentation, term paper, senior thesis, research proposal, chapter from your M.A. thesis, or other scholarly work).
6. A copy of your Graduate Record Examination scores are required (nominally, the General GRE is required).
7. Application processing fee. The amount of the fee is $40.00 for domestic students and $55.00 (U.S.) for international students. This fee may be paid on-line by credit card as part of an on-line application. Alternatively, a check made out to "KSU-Graduate School" may be included with the application package.
8. INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS ONLY:
8a. Current TOEFL score.
8b. Completed Affidavit of Financial Support form.
8c. Test of Spoken English (TSE), if offered in your country.

The application deadline to be considered for financial support is January15. Application for Fall admission without financial support will be considered until August 1 for domestic students and May 1 for international students. Corresponding deadlines for the Spring term are December 1 and October 1.
